Tulsi Vivah 2021: Story and Importnce & behind the history of celebration of Tulsi Vivah:

Tulsi Vivah is a Hindu event in which the Tulsi (Basil) is ceremonially married to the god Shaligram or Vishnu. In Hinduism, the Tulsi wedding marks the end of the monsoon and the start of the wedding season.

Between Prabodhini Ekadashi (the eleventh or twelfth lunar day of the bright fortnight of the Hindu month of Kartik) and Kartik Poornima, the ceremonial feast is held (the full moon of the month). The time of day varies by region.

Hindu followers commemorate Devuthani Ekadashi, also known as Prabodhini Ekadas, to mark the conclusion of God's four-month slumber time.

Tulsi, often known as basil, is regarded as one of the most prominent and vital herbs in Hindu culture. After four months of Chaturmas, the plant also signals the start of the auspicious period. Hindu followers commemorate Devuthani Ekadashi, also known as Prabodhini Ekadashi, to mark the conclusion of God's four-month slumber time. Devotees perform Tulsi vivah on this day, commemorating the Tulsi or holy basil's ceremonial marriage to the Hindu god Vishnu. The marriage of Tulsi and Lord Vishnu is said to signal the beginning of the auspicious season of marriages.

The Story of Tulsi Vivah:

Mata Tusli's real name was Vrinda. She was born into a demon family but was a devout follower of Sri Hari Vishnu. Vrinda married a demon named Jalandhar when she was older. Vrinda was a virtuous woman who was not only a big devotee of Lord Vishnu but also a virtuous devotee of Lord Vishnu. Her spouse Jalandhar grew indestructible as a result of her devotion and worship, and she became enamoured of her abilities, attacking heaven and capturing the girls. Enraged, all the gods flocked to Lord Shri Hari Vishnu's sanctuary and pleaded for an end to the horror in Jalandhar. To put an end to Jalandhar, however, his wife Vrinda's chastity had to be broken first.

With his deception, Lord Vishnu took the guise of Jalandhar and destroyed Vrinda's noble faith, weakening Jalandhar's power and killing him in combat. When Vrinda learned of Shri Hari's deception, she told Lord Vishnu, "Oh Nath, I worshipped you all my life; how did you do such a thing to me?" Sri Hari was unable to respond to this query, so Vrinda cursed Lord Vishnu, saying, "You treated me like a stone, therefore I curse you that you become a stone." When Lord Shri Hari said this, he turned into a stone, and the universe's balance began to deteriorate. The gods then asked Vrinda to reverse her curse. Lord Vishnu was also sorry of the deception perpetrated against Vrinda, and in the end, he forgave Lord Vishnu, freeing him from the curse and making him sati with Jalandhar. Sri Hari Vishnu named the plant that sprouted from Vrinda's ashes Tulsi and provided the boon that I would not accept any offerings unless I had Tulsi. Tulsi will marry in my Shaligram form, and later people will marry Tulsi on this date, bringing happiness and riches to them.

Tulsi Vivah Vidhi:

Wake up before sunrise on Tulsi Vivah day, take a bath after retiring from daily activities, and dress in clean clothes. After that, give Tulsi ji a red coloured chunri as well as all of her beauty stuff. After you've completed all of this, place Shaligram ji in the Tulsi plant. Pandit ji then marries Tulsi and Shaligram according to Hindu norms. Man should take Shaligram and lady should take Tulsi ji in her hand for seven rounds before marriage, and after marriage, both should conduct Tulsi ji aarti.

The Importance of Tulsi Vivah 2021

Lord Vishnu, the defender of the realm, is said to slumber for four months, commencing on Chaturmas and ending on the Purnima tithi of the Shukla paksh in the month of Kartik. On Devuthani Ekadashi, the Lord awakens, signalling the start of Hindus performing auspicious acts.

Tulsi Mata cursed Lord Vishnu to turn into a black rock, according to our ancient texts. To break the curse, Lord Vishnu assumed the form of the Shaligram rock and married Tulsi. As a result, Tulsi is also seen as a manifestation of Goddess Lakshmi.
