The Legend Story of Dhanteras 2021 - Dhantrayodashi Vrat Katha - The Festival of Wealth.
These events are centred on the mythology of Samudra Manthan. "The pride of money has entered his head and let Lakshmi depart him," sage Durvasa cursed Lord Indra once. Lakshmi left Indra because of Durvasa's curse. Devendra's life became sad as Lakshmi left him, as she is the goddess of power, valour, excitement, and radiance. Indra was beaten by the demons who had been waiting for such an opportunity. He lost his dominion and sought refuge from the demons.
A period of time elapsed. Brihaspati, Indra's tutor, considered a solution to Indra's problems. He went to Brahma with the gods, who went to Vishnu, and a way out was found. It was time to churn the sea of milk. It was a challenging task. It was clear that more strength and force were required. For this, the Devas befriended the demons and tricked them into assisting them. The Mandara Mountain would serve as a churning rod, while Vaasuki, the serpent king, would serve as a rope.
"Amrut" will be formed when the sea is churned. It is necessary for the gods to consume it in order to become immortal. The gods will be able to defeat the demons at that point. Lakshmi, who had vanished, will reappearance when the sea is churned. Grace will be lavished upon her. Brihaspati was astute enough to build up a friendship with the demons, who accepted in exchange for ambrosia and wealth. The churning began after early difficulties caused by Mount Mandara's sinking into the milky sea, which were resolved by Lord Vishnu, who took the form of a tortoise and raised it on his back.
First, a terrible poison called Kalakuta was created, which Lord Shiva took, much to the relief of the gods and demons. The gods and demons proceeded to churn the water due to Vishnu's persistent urging. Then a horse named Uchhaishravas appeared, as did Kalpavriksha, who had the capacity to grant one's wishes, Kamadhenu, and other celestial entities. The Apsara were created as the sea continued to churn.
Then, in the centre of the sea of milk's waves, a goddess with celestial features appeared. She was standing on a lotus in full bloom. She wore a lotus garland around her neck and held a lotus in her hand. She was Lakshmi, and she was beautiful with a bright smile.
The sages began to sing hymns in her honour. Gandharvas performed a song. Apsaras performed their dance. The elephants on either side of the goddess bathed her in the holy Ganga water. She was given the name Gajalakshmi when the elephants showered holy water on her. She was given the name Samudratanya because she was born in a sea of milk. In his natural form, the king of the sea soothed Lakshmi like a daughter. He dressed her up in lovely attire and lavished her with gems. He presented her with a lotus flower garland. While everyone was surprised, Lakshmi placed the garland around Vishnu's neck. Then she gave Indra a kind gaze, and he shone with an unusual glow.
The gods and demons continued to churn the ocean in search of Amrit, or nectar, until Dhanvantari appeared with a jug of the elixir (ambrosia). Both the asuras and the Devtas desired the ambrosia, but in the end, Vishnu was able to offer the gods the immortal nectar, and the asuras were defeated. Thus, the churning of the ocean resulted in the Devtas' immortality and was the cause of Lakshmi's birth.
